“The greatest among you must be a servant. But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted” (Matthew 23:11-12 NLT).
Jesus not only taught, but modeled the art of servant leadership. He showed that true greatness was not about exalting oneself, but being humble enough to wash another’s feet. This is the Kingdom leadership model that turns the world upside down. The servant leader descends to greatness. By choosing to serve, the Lord lifts him up. The path to greatness is the path of service.
And who is the greatest of all? Jesus. For as He said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
PRAYER: Dear Father, You sent Your Son to serve, not to be served. He is our Master. Now we are His servants. Teach us to live in such a way that gives glory to Jesus and to You. We know that we do not serve in obscurity for our reward is in Your hand. We serve for Your approval O Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
