“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1)

Jesus is the Logos, the Word of God incarnate. Is the Word alive in your life? Or are you just mouthing the words? Be careful. The Word became flesh but some theologians try to reduce Him to words again.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5)

April 28, 2011

Do we make the same mistake as the women who went to Jesus’ tomb? Do we go looking where we last heard from Him? Asking Him for an encore experience? Jesus is alive and He is on the move. Ask the Spirit to show you where He is at work today.

“The LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many men for me to deliver” (Judges 7:2)

God often allows our strength to turn to weakness, so we aren’t confused about who saves. Are you going through a downturn? Turn to God for help. He loves working with those totally dependent on Him.

“Declare his glory among the nations” (Psalm 96:3)

April 26, 2011

The Lord enlarges our worldview. He calls us out to be His Kingdom messengers to the nations. Don’t be surprised or resist if you or your children are called to leave the comfort of home for an unknown foreign land. Get God’s worldview.

“Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law” (Psalm 94:12)

April 25, 2011

Christ is now the fulfillment of Passover. He has conquered sin, death and the grave! He is both Passover Lamb and Risen Lord. He is risen! He is risen indeed!

“Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives” (Luke 21:37)

How Jesus spent the first 5 days of Passion Week. Then, after the craziness and cruelty of Friday’s crucifixion, on Sat. all was quiet. No teaching, no miracles. Jesus rested in the tomb on the 7th day. But Sunday is coming…

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15)

April 22, 2011

This is still our choice today. We are always only one generation away from apostasy. Parents must choose. Pass the baton of faith to your children and your children’s children.

“I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure” (Psalm 89:29)

April 21, 2011

What God said of David, Jesus fulfilled. He is the both the Son of God and of David. He is Messiah, the Anointed One. On this Thursday 2,000 years ago He gave new meaning to the bread and cup at Passover. He prayed in the garden and did God’s will. Hosanna, Son of David!

“The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it” (Psalm 89:11)

Creation week establishes God’s ownership, Passion Week, His redemption. The first Adam rebelled and God’s good creation fell. The Second Adam obeyed and through Him everything is being made new again. Acknowledge what Christ has done for us!
