Jesus turned the theory of leadership upside down. He taught His disciples, who were arguing about who would rise to leadership, that the path to greatness in God’s economy was downward, not upward. Jesus was the model of the Servant Leader. He led by service. Washing feet, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, teaching the ignorant– this is how Jesus led. And this is how He still expects us to lead. Leadership is a stewardship.

The more one talks, the greater the likelihood of sinning. The wise man keeps silent, actively listening to others before carefully choosing words of response. Try talking less and listening more today. Ask the Lord to help you hear His voice and to hear the voices of others before uttering a word yourself.

Not my bank acct or credit card. Not according to my reason or resources, but according to God’s. I will place my trust in Him today for the enemy I face.

The more talk, the greater likelihood for sin. Hold your tongue. Rein it in, and listen more. People who talk too much have to offer more apologies. Give someone the gift of listening to them today.
