“Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall” (Psalm 55:22 NLT)

From: March 12, 2014

David’s psalm sounds similar to Christ’s invitation to “Come unto Me, all ye that are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest…” (Matt. 11:28). But rather than giving our burdens to God, we struggle and worry over things too heavy to bear. We lose sleep. We become anxious and depressed. Our relational life with God and others suffer. Our troubles so weigh us down that we stoop under the load. Yet, David knew how to bear up his burdens to God in prayer. And we have an even greater Advocate, the Lord Jesus Christ, who invites us to come to Him for rest. Do you know this old hymn?
Verse 1:
Hear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed,
“Oh, ye heavy-laden, come to Me and rest;
Come, no longer tarry, I your load will bear,
Bring Me every burden, bring Me every care.”
Refrain:
Come unto Me, I will give you rest;
Take My yoke upon you, hear Me and be blest;
I am meek and lowly, come and trust My might;
Come, My yoke is easy, and My burden’s light. – Come Unto Me, by Charles P. Jones

“Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” (Mark 16:3 ESV)

From: March 12, 2013

This was the question the women who wanted to anoint the Lord’s body had as they headed towards the tomb on that first Easter morning. Arriving there, they found the huge stone had already been rolled away, revealing the empty tomb. Do you know someone that seems close to believing, yet there is a kind of unmovable stone standing in the way? You can lead them to the cross and to the tomb, but only God can remove the stone. Pray that the stone is removed, so that they can finally see and believe.

“You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” (Mark 16:6)

From: March 12, 2012

What the angel guarding Jesus’ tomb said to the women. People still look for Jesus in wrong places. But He isn’t found in dead religion. He is found when we call on Him by name, receiving Him as Lord and Savior. He is alive and wants to live in us!

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall” (Psalm 55:22)

From: March 12, 2011

Turn your worrying into prayer, your wasted self-talk into Divine petition. Then, rest. The LORD will “never” let you fall.
