There’s no biblical prohibition against making plans. There’s wisdom in planning for the future. Yet, it is foolish to leave the Lord out of our planning for God is the one who holds the future. So, ask for God’s wisdom when making plans. Seek godly counsel. Pray for clarity and follow God’s instruction. And when things don’t go according to plan, don’t get frustrated. Adjust. Perhaps God has a better plan.

The Psalmist describes both his head and heart’s response to God’s Word. He loves the Word and thinks about it all day. Is your heart stirred by the Word? Does it capture your thinking?

God’s Word gives light to keep our feet from stumbling. And it shines forth to point us on the right path to follow. As a light is useless without being turned on, so the Word cannot do its work in us unless we read and meditate on it. Have your “turned on” the Word today?
