When King Sennacherib sent a letter threatening Jerusalem, King Hezekiah put on burlap, went up to the Temple, and spread the letter out on the floor for the Lord to consider. And God heard his prayer and defended him. What threat do you fear today? Have you brought it to the Lord? Spread your trouble out before God. Let Him handle it.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9 ESV)

Do not dig up in doubt what you planted in faith! As the Apostle Paul said, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase” (1 Cor. 3:6). Or as the Lord told Haggai, “Be strong, do the work, and do not fear,” and leave the results up to God!

“And you who are left in Judah, who have escaped the ravages of the siege, will put roots down in your own soil and grow up and flourish” (Isaiah 37:31)

Survivors often don’t know how to really thrive. They are paranoid about doing more than maintain, thinking that trouble will come again soon. God gave Isaiah this word for the survivors in Jerusalem: you will not only escape, you will put down roots, grow and flourish. You will thrive! Is it time for you to thrive?
