I wonder how many of these prayers Jesus has prayed for us? How many times have we attacked or defamed His body without knowledge? Even more troubling, what about when we have knowledge and know better?

“I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:32)

That Jesus prays for us should not be underestimated. That the One who died for us also lives to continually advocate for us should give us unbelievable joy and confidence. So, repent quickly and return.

“So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” (Luke 19:32-34)

If the Lord needed your never ridden donkey, would you let Him use it? Or would you suggest the old broken-in one? Or perhaps that He come by at a more convenient time? Or that …

“For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost” (Luke 19:10)

What Jesus said after visiting the home of Zacchaeus the notorious tax collector. We don’t have to wonder (WWJD) what would Jesus do today. We know. He would be busy seeking the lost.

“When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all” (Luke 17:26-27)

Jesus describes that last days before His return. Do you love the world or do you love His appearing?

“One day Jesus said to his disciples, ‘There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!’” (Luke 17:1)

A profound warning to the one who would tempt others to join them in their sin. What a misuse of influence is this! We often see this in our celebrity worshiping culture. Is your sin tempting others to sin?

“So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full'” (Luke 14:23)

The first-century disciples watched for Christ’s 2nd coming with expectation because they had seen Him return from the tomb. On this Resurrection Sunday let us be reminded that He is risen and that He is coming again! Are you ready?

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need” (Luke 12:31)

On this 7th day of Passion Week, we remember that Christ rested in the tomb, His work on the cross finished. Tomorrow, we remember that He conquered death and the grave. Yet, we still worry about lunch. Stop worrying. Seek Him with first priority. Rest in Jesus.

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that. But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell” (Luke 12:4-5)

On this Good Friday we remember that Jesus did not fear man more than God. He was crucified by man, but resurrected by God. Whom do you fear?
